An alleged suspect within the homicide of 24-year-old Brianna Kupfer was once arrested in Pasadena, Wednesday.
Shawn Laval Smith, 31, was once detained through Pasadena PD, ahead of being taken into custody through LAPD, Wednesday.
“We will be able to verify, Shawn Laval Smith, the suspect answerable for the homicide of Brianna Kupfer is in custody, after being positioned and detained through Pasadena PD round 11:50 a.m. this morning within the space of Honest Oaks and Colorado Blvd.,” LAPD tweeted out Wednesday.
Pasadena PD detained Smith after LAPD known him as a suspect and posting surveillance pictures of a suspect from a 7-11 on Beverly Side road, about half-hour ahead of the homicide.
On the time of the January 13 incident, Kupfer was once running at Croft Area furnishings retailer on North Los angeles Brea Road. Police consider that she was once stabbed through the suspect ahead of fleeing from the shop’s again door. It’s not believed that Kupfer or Smith had any connection previous to the incident.
Police gained a choice for “Ambulance Attack with a Fatal Weapon” at 1:50 p.m., mins after Kupfer despatched a chum a message of outrage after the suspect walked into the shop. A buyer discovered Kupfer in a puddle of blood quickly after.
As of this writing, there is not any recognized cause for the assault.
